God speaks to me....
It is amazing how God works in your life, especially when you ask Him. I realized on Tuesday morning that I have not thought about what to write about this week and quickly said a prayer to ask God to show me what He wants me to write about. As I was sitting, praying, and reading in Psalms I read Psalm 34:14, which says: Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
I began to think about this and the part about seek peace and pursue it. I thought this hits me where I should be, especially at work and if you ask Jayne she would probably tell you that I am not always pursuing peace at home either. I would not consider myself evil, but I am not a fulltime peace seeker.
On my drive into work this verse kept popping into my head and I began to think about how at work I find myself not enjoying some aspects of my job. When one does not enjoy all aspects of your work, one finds ways to be less than peaceful. I find myself being contentious at times when working with some individuals that annoy me.
So I thought how can I change my behavior on this? Well first I can pray to God and ask Him to change my heart. Then I need to become more aware of my surroundings and situations. Then I need to pray some more.
There is another verse that goes along with this and that would be Romans 12:18 - If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
So it depends on me to live at peace with everyone. How about you? Are you living in a peaceful world? Do you hear God speaking to you when things are not going right? Do you know God? If you do not know God, then I encourage you to read another verse:
John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
God speaks to me, how about you?
