Hell Yes or Hell No

There is not one single person in hell today because of what they did in life, but what they did not do.  The greatest sin that a person can commit in this life is to go their entire life rejecting God, ignoring God, and living without God.

Matthew 5:22   But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

I guess I should start by asking if you heard of heaven and hell. Then I should ask, do you believe in heaven and hell. Then, do you believe you will go to heaven or hell.

Only 1 out of 121 people will tell you that they are going to hell! So, 120 people will say that they are going to heaven.  How do you get there? Do you think by being good, not murdering, not committing adultery, or just following the 10 Commandments will get you there?

There is only one way to get there and trust me it’s not by being good. You see hell is not full of people that God rejected, but it’s full of people who rejected God. But you may ask, why would God send anyone to go to hell?  God does not send people to hell. He loves us so much that He allows us to make choices.  He allows us to choose how we live and if we choose Him or not. So He allows us to make a choice of where we want to spend eternity. Explain to me how someone chooses to live without God during this life, would want to live with God after they die?

Do you make the choice to say, there is no God and I will live life as I see fit? Do you think that by being good you can get to heaven? Well you better be perfect.

Matthew 5:20- For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

I really do not think that anyone of us is that good, besides it’s not about being good or bad; it’s about accepting God and wanting to know God, wanting to see God.  You see even murders, child molesters, adulteresses can be forgiven and get to heaven, because those are just sins. Sins can be forgiven no matter what sin it is.

Only the mercy of God can forgive you of those sins. But if you refuse to listen to the word of God and refuse to believe that Jesus died for your sins, will not have eternal life.

John 3:36 - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

You probably say that you are better than most Christians that you know. You may be right, but again it is not being better or good that gets you into heaven. You cannot be so good that God will let you into heaven and you cannot be so bad that you will go to hell.

Getting to heaven or hell is your choice. It’s not by what good you do, it’s about what God does for you. It’s not by your good works, it’s by His grace.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

You may still not believe me and think I am a crazy madman, but are willing to bet your life on it?

  1. C.S. Lewis - "The Christian is in a different position from other people who are trying to be good. They hope, by being good, to please God if there is one; or--if they think there is not--at least they hope to deserve approval from good men. But the Christian thinks any good he does come from the Christ-life inside him. He does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us; just as the roof of a greenhouse does not attract the sun because it is bright, but becomes bright because the sun shines on it."
