There is an old Proverb that says there are 3 kinds of people:
1. Those that make things happen
2. Those who watch what happens
3. And those that wonder what just happened?
What kind are you?
One of the 12 Apostles was Andrew, brother of Simon, called Peter. Can you imagine being Peter’s younger brother? Peter was a great disciple of Jesus’. Peter was one of Jesus’ closest friends who He built His kingdom on. But if not for Andrew, Peter may have not met Jesus at all. You see Andrew did something and made things happen. Andrew brought Peter to Jesus for the first time.
John 1:41 - The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ).
Andrew did not care about his position in life. He didn’t care about a fancy boat, fine clothes, or a new fishing rod. No Andrew was just out there bringing people to Jesus. Andrew also brought a young boy to Jesus.
John 6:5-9 - Therefore Jesus, lifting up His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him, said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?" This He was saying to test him, for He Himself knew what He was intending to do. Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive a little." One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him, "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?"
Andrew was out there making things happen. Are you like Andrew, making things happen or do you watch things happen or even wonder what did just happen? As a Christ follower, you are commissioned to make things happen.
Matthew 28:18-20 -Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
So get out there and make things happen. There’s another old proverb that applies here:
IF YOU'RE NOT THE LEAD DOG, THE SCENERY NEVER CHANGES!
