 Grief

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

I personally like listening to an assortment of music. Within the last year I have found a new to me artist that sings “country” music. I say “country” because it’s really a mixture of a few genres. 

Anyway, I digress. One of his songs really hit me the other day. Grief is Only Love and the line that hit me was: 

Yeah, grief is only love that's got no place to go

Grief is only love that’s got no place, but as Christians that know the Lord, we know that God is not distant in our times of sorrow. He is intimately present and attentive to our pain, offering comfort and healing. I take comfort in knowing that. 

LORD, we pour out our hearts before you, consumed by grief. We lift to you all the pain and sorrow we have. Comfort us, O Lord, in the depths of our grief. Hold us close and wipe away our tears. Grant us the space to mourn and process our emotions.Help us find solace in Your presence and bring healing to the deep wounds of our heart.
