Lighten the load...

This week has been a lesson in praying, listening and following God.  Let me explain.  I have been trying to get a new job for several months now and this week all things began coming to a head.  I was feeling overwhelmed as well as over burdened.  I did not know which way to turn for advice.  I was thinking that I needed the advice of a human.  What was I thinking?  I began to pray about it and knowing that I was in a time crunch, I asked God to show me something quickly.  I really hate to ask God for things right away, as I know that He will provide in His time.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 And then God answered: "Write this. Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness pointing to what's coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!  And it doesn't lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time.

Well like I said I wanted an answer quickly so I would not be overwhelmed.  Then little things started to happen.  I began seeing more police vehicles on the road.  Not unusual, but I do not speed and usually I never worry about seeing a police car, but like I said I was seeing more and not thinking that God was talking to me.  Funny how God uses everyday circumstances to communicate with us.

Isaiah 49:8 This is what the LORD says:  “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances,

Then early this week I was getting ready for work and picked up my backpack.  It was unusually light and I know that I did not remove anything.  But that's when I heard God tell me, "I got your back and your load."  As I was driving to work that morning and praising God for taking my load He also told me to slow down in my efforts on this job.  That was the reason for the police cruisers.

I was totally blown away by this whole experience.

John 6:14 After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.

Things all came together this week and I am most grateful for God's intervention.  It appears at this point that the job is mine and I will start sometime in mid-August.
