This is a follow on to the post from last week. Which Bible are you reading? Do you understand the meaning of the words? Are you reading the white?
Isaiah 29:13 The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.
“Did you ever read the white?!” Can you read between the lines? The words on pages of a book are black marks on white pages. When we read, we only look at the black ink, but the ink is actually on a white page. Each black letter is surrounded by white. It is the large white page that carries the small black letters. Do you read the Bible and still not feel like you are not “getting it?” Can you see beyond the black ink - beyond - what is written?
2 Corinthians 3:6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Can you read by the Holy Spirit and not just the words? Can you go beyond the literal word and REALLY get the meaning?
Romans 1:17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
True righteousness is actually imparted to us through the faith of Jesus Christ. Righteousness is an attributed gift; it is nothing we have to attain through our self-efforts.
“Peace that passes understanding” which Jesus promised to give all those who received His faith.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This “peace” is a supernatural peace nothing in this world can duplicate. The true understanding of a handful of words in text read by the light of the Holy Spirit will completely change your life. This is revelation. This is what “reading the white” is about.
So, read your Bible, whatever translation, and read between the lines. Read with faith that God will show Himself to you in those black words on the white paper. Then you will be reading the white!
