Have you ever received a gift from someone you were so excited about that you could not wait to tell someone? Have you ever bought a gift for someone that you could not wait to give them? I know that I have on both accounts.
Well it is the same with love, would you not agree? Have you ever been in love with someone so much that you could not wait until you could be with them again? It could be your girlfriend, boyfriend, your wife, your husband, your children, and your grandchildren. [Have I told you that I have a grandson?] You think about the person that you love constantly. You call them when you cannot go see them.
What happens when you get upset with the person you love? Do you abandon them or do you forgive them because you love them so? What about that gift you bought them? Did you take it back and not give it to them? Maybe, but if we really love them we would give it to them.
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Well the gift of salvation is a present of love. When you receive the gift of salvation and begin a personal relationship with God, you want to tell everyone. Paul did just that. He was a man that hunted down the Christ Followers and then had them executed. God still gave Paul the gift of salvation and Paul was one of the greatest men to tell others about God that ever lived.
You see Paul got the gift of salvation, felt the love that God had to offer, and wanted everyone to know. What about you? Have you received the gift of salvation? Have you received the love of God?
I know you have heard this before but read it again. Think about this gift that was something that you were giving away:
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Accept this gift and then go tell someone else.
