This weekend is the Open Championship in golf. This is the oldest of all golf tournaments in the world. For the winner the week will require practice, execution, battling some tough weather conditions, and some luck along the way.
Psalm 18:32-34 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
With God on our side, we can do more than we think possible. God provides victory. We ought to praise God in both victory and defeat. Who will they praise that gives them the victory?
Psalm 108: 12-13 Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
Christians are to rejoice. To do that, you need only to think of the great things God has done for you. Then we are told not to be anxious, but in our prayers to make our requests known to God. In your biggest problems, you have One that you can go to; and before Him you can pour out your heart with the assurance that He will not leave you without an answer to that great problem. Then we are to fill our minds with those things that are good. These are mentioned in scriptures as being things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and of virtue. It is upon these things that we are to think. Live positively, not negatively. Once you learn that secret, God will have given you victory.
Psalm 18:35 You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.
When were you worried last? When you received relief, did you praise God? Next time God gives you victory, give Him praise.
